One of the best-kept secrets in Specialty Coffee is that I think the best Hario V60 is the plastic one, rather than the copper, glass or steel one. Plastic is a decent heat insulator, you see, so as you brew in this V60, I think you lose less heat to the environment than you do with one of the ones that feels warmer to the touch.
More heat = faster reaction = more extraction which sort of = better coffee.
So I picked this cheerful, festive red number to complement Santa Lucia as a midwinter special.
I also love the plastic V60 because of its super-approachable price point. If you can find a better brewer at a cheaper price than this, please let me know!
